Defibrillators Market Continues To Grow With Increasing Cases of Target Disease All Over the World
Overview:
Defibrillation is a medical procedure that uses
an electrical shock to restart the heart in a patient with a defibrillator. The
electrical shock causes the entire heart to depolarize at once, causing a
temporary asystole. Defibrillation is typically only effective in situations in
which a person cannot receive immediate help by electrical means. Instead, they
usually require urgent CPR and intravenous medication, which are not always
successful. A defibrillator acts like a power-cycling heart, providing an immediate
boost to the patient's heartbeat when they need it most.
Market Dynamics:
Target diseases such as
cardiovascular diseases are increasingly affecting people all over the world.
Thus, growing cases of target diseases is expected to propel growth of the
global defibrillators market over the forecast period. For instance, as per
data published by the American Heart Association, in 2018 the U.S. registered
42.1 % deaths caused by coronary heart disease (CHD) and 17% deaths caused due
to stroke.
However, problems associated with use of automated external and implantable defibrillators is likely to restrain growth of the global defibrillators market over the forecast period.
Global defibrillators market is
estimated to be valued at US$ 16,843.5 million in 2022 and
is expected to exhibit a CAGR of 5.7% during
the forecast period (2022-2030).
